Gloster Aviation Medicals remains fully operational and all bookings should be made as usual through our online booking site. We ask clients who have an appointment scheduled to be vigilant regarding Covid-19 and to let us know as soon as possible if they are unwell or have been advised to isolate.
As of 29th March 2021 the CAA brought in the Cellma medical records system for pilots with UK-issued licences. Pilots who require a UK CAA medical must register on the CAA portal, fill out their application form online and pay the CAA submission fee (no fee for LAPL) that we previously collected on behalf of the CAA. This process is currently taking around a week, therefore we advise pilots to attend to this in good time. Please see the CAA website and the following useful documents:
The CAA Covid-19 exemptions that extended the validity of medical certificates have now ended. If you hold a PPL and your UK Class 2 medical certificate has a later LAPL expiry date then you may fly with LAPL privileges until that date, there is no need to advise the CAA. Please note that LAPL privileges exclude the use of any Instrument Rating. Self-declaration of medical fitness has been extended to pilots holding some UK licences. Please check the CAA publication list for full details. The CAA self-declaration form must be completed online via Cellma.
As of the 1st January 2021 the UK left EASA. Pilots holding UK-issued licences who previously required EASA medicals should book a UK CAA medical on our booking site. Dr Emma Ramsay has gained approval to perform medical examinations for pilots holding EU-issued licences (EASA medicals) under Transport Malta. For these medicals please complete the following forms prior to your appointment and bring them along with your current medical certificate and EU licence:
Check with your employer if you require an EU or a UK medical.
For EU cabin crew medicals complete this application form and the mental health questionnaire.
For UK cabin crew medicals complete this application form. Please bring the printed forms with you to your appointment.
Complete a MedXpress form and bring the confirmation number with you to your appointment.
Please contact us us if you have any questions regarding the above.Last updated: 13th Dec 2021
